No one gets around the globe like Jon Bowermaster. He's back in the Antarctic this austral summer after his successful kayak trip there last year. During that trip he was on hand when the tourist ship went down and oddly he was there this year when the tourist ship went down. I'm not going to say he's bad luck but...
Read his blog. It's not just full of glorious photos, like that above, but also lots of information about the Antarctic. There's a terrific, and terrifying post on overfishing.

Hi,
I am a Preschool teacher in Ohio. My class is studying penguins. I came across this website and thought perhaps my preschoolers could send you a postcard and you could write to us about the penguins you see there. I believe they would absolutely love receiving a letter from someone in Antartica. This would lead us into much more discussions about that area, as well as, knowing that someone actually has gone there and written back to them. How cool would that be?!
Thank you so much for your consideration.

OK, all you Antarcticans--send a note to these children! Introduce them to ice, penguins and good deeds from the bottom of the world.
Thanks
Susan
